Swap a facade material, or restyle an image to match a reference
Try a different cladding, roof or floor finish in seconds. Replace one material while everything else stays exactly where it is, or restyle the whole image so it matches the look of reference images.
What you can upload
- A render or photo whose material you want to change
- Optionally, a material sample or reference renders whose look you want to match
Options
- Mode: replace one material, or match the overall look of reference images.
- Surface: which part to change, for example "the upper-floor cladding" or "the roof".
- Material: red brick, whitewashed brick, board-formed concrete, vertical timber cladding, charred timber (shou sugi ban), Corten steel, standing-seam zinc, limestone, white lime render, terracotta baguettes, glass curtain wall, and interior finishes such as terrazzo, oak flooring and microcement.
- Reference images: up to three, such as a photo of the exact brick you have specified.
How it works
- Upload the image to change.
- Say which surface should change and choose the new material, or upload references to match.
- Generate a few variations to compare options.
- Take the favourite on to Relight or Entourage for the final image.
Tips for better results
- Name the surface precisely: "the ground-floor brick plinth" works better than "the wall".
- For a specified product, upload a photo of a sample panel as a reference.
- Generate the same view in two or three materials to make a quick options board for a client meeting.
Questions
Does the rest of the image change?
In "Replace a material" mode only the surface you name changes; geometry, light and the rest of the scene stay the same.
Can I use my own material?
Yes. Choose "Describe in notes / use reference" and upload a photo of the material, or describe it in the notes.
Does it work for interiors?
Yes. Flooring and wall finishes such as oak, terrazzo and microcement are included, and any other material can be described.

Other tools
- Render: Upload a SketchUp or Rhino screenshot, a hand sketch, an elevation or a floor plan and get a photorealistic architectural render that keeps your geometry.
- Relight: Same building, same camera, different light.
- Entourage & Landscape: Bring an architectural render to life with correctly scaled people, vehicles, trees and landscape, and optionally sharpen the detail.
- Local Edit: Paint over one area of a render or photo and describe the change: a different bench, a new window, a removed car.
