Render Studio

Change the time of day, weather and season of a render

Same building, same camera, different light. Turn a daytime render or photo into golden hour, blue hour or night, add rain, snow or mist, or move it to another season, without re-rendering the scene.

What you can upload

  • A render from Render Studio or any other renderer
  • A photograph of an existing building or site

Options

  • Time of day: early morning, bright midday, golden hour, soft overcast, blue hour or dusk, and night.
  • Weather: keep as is, clear sky, light rain, snow, or mist and fog.
  • Season: keep as is, spring, summer, autumn or winter: foliage changes with it.
  • Interior lights: automatic, or on with a warm glow through the windows.
  • Notes: for example "streetlights on, reflections on the wet road".

How it works

  1. Upload the image you want to relight.
  2. Choose the time of day, and optionally the weather, season and interior lights.
  3. Generate one or more variations at 1K, 2K or 4K.
  4. Compare them side by side and keep the mood that sells the scheme.

Tips for better results

  • Blue hour with interior lights on is the classic presentation shot for residential and hospitality projects.
  • Make a set: the same view at midday, golden hour and night shows a scheme in a few seconds of a presentation.
  • Winter relights are useful for showing how a building reads when the trees are bare.

Questions

Will the building change when I relight it?

No. Relight keeps the building, the camera and the composition, and changes only the light, sky, weather and seasonal planting.

Can I relight a photograph?

Yes. Relight works on photos of existing buildings as well as renders.

Can I make a night render from a day render?

Yes. Choose "Night" or "Blue hour / dusk" and switch interior lights on for a warm glow through the windows.

Other tools

  • Render: Upload a SketchUp or Rhino screenshot, a hand sketch, an elevation or a floor plan and get a photorealistic architectural render that keeps your geometry.
  • Materials & Style: Replace one material in an architectural image, such as brick, timber cladding, concrete, zinc or terracotta, while everything else stays put, or restyle the whole image to match reference images.
  • Entourage & Landscape: Bring an architectural render to life with correctly scaled people, vehicles, trees and landscape, and optionally sharpen the detail.
  • Local Edit: Paint over one area of a render or photo and describe the change: a different bench, a new window, a removed car.
